Warm, vetted laid-off H-1B leads — pay only when you close.

H-1B Compass owns the moment of layoff: free grace-period calculator, cap-exempt employer database, daily decision-tracker subscription. We see real-time intent. The buyer is panicked, well-funded, and 60 days from a high-stakes filing. We’re looking for AILA-member attorneys to take the warm referrals our consumer product produces.

Volume

Calculator + tracker traffic targets 1,000-3,000 high-intent visitors per month at maturity. Conversion to attorney-referral is ~5-8% in adjacent legal verticals; we’ll route the warm leads to you, filtered by geography, specialty, language.

Quality

Every lead has already self-served the calculator (so they know what their options are), confirmed an email (double-opt-in), and usually subscribed to the daily tracker. By the time they hit your inbox, they’re educated and serious.

Compliance

Every state with explicit fee-split prohibitions gets a flat marketing-fee model instead of rev-share. We follow Avvo’s playbook and the relevant state-bar advisory opinions. Detailed review packet shared with each attorney during onboarding.

How it works

  1. 1

    Apply

Email attorneys@h1bcompass.comwith your bar number, primary state, AILA membership year, and 2-3 sentences on your H-1B practice focus. We verify AILA membership in good standing and confirm $100K E&O minimum.

  2. 2

    Configure your profile

Set practice states, languages spoken, specialties (transfer, I-539 H-4, NIW, EB-1A, removal defense, etc.), and capacity cap (max leads per month).

  3. 3

    Receive routed leads

When a Compass user with facts matching your profile asks for an attorney intro, we email you their (consented) contact details + a 1-page situation summary. You reach out within 24 hours.

  4. 4

    Close → settle

On closed cases, our share (15-20% rev-share or flat per-lead, depending on your state’s fee-split rules) is invoiced quarterly. No upfront cost; no minimums.

FAQ

Is this UPL-safe? You’re not a law firm.

Correct — H-1B Compass is not a law firm. The consumer product is information-only. The marketplace function is lead generation; you (the attorney) are always the legal advisor of record. We’ve modeled the structure on Avvo and align with individual state-bar guidance on attorney lead-gen marketing.

What states are you not yet routing to?

At launch we’ll route to all 50 states + DC. States with strict fee-split prohibitions (e.g. NY, NJ, OH) use a flat per-lead marketing-fee model rather than rev-share. We’ll walk you through your specific state’s rules during onboarding.

What’s the typical case profile?

Most leads need an H-1B transfer (I-129 with portability under INA §214(n)) or an I-539 dependent change-of-status (H-4, F-1, B-2). High-intent leads include I-140-mature workers seeking Compelling Circumstances EAD or AC21 §104(c) extensions, and PhD/researcher segment users exploring NIW/EB-1A self-petition.

When do you plan to start routing?

We’re in private beta. Initial panel of 50 attorneys is the launch gate. Apply early to be in that founding cohort — we’ll be selective on geography and specialty spread.
