RSU acceleration

Severance-package term that vests some or all of your unvested RSUs at termination.

By default, severance offers DON'T accelerate unvested RSUs — you forfeit them at signing. Acceleration is the most-negotiable line item in tech severance, often worth $20K-$200K. Ask in writing for full acceleration; even partial (50-75%) is meaningful. Note: vested ISO/NSO have a separate 90-day post-termination exercise window that runs concurrently with the H-1B 60-day grace period.
